[edit] Plot
Sissel wakes up to find himself a dead man. Having no memories of his life, who he is or why he is dead, the only clues pertaining to his death are from a young girl by the name of Lynne and a rather near sighted assassin called Jeego. Sooner rather than later, Sissel is taught about the powers that come with being a spirit, such powers include the possession of inanimate objects and being able to travel back in time four minutes before a person's death in order to change their fate. These powers are called Ghost Tricks. However, he soon learns that he has until sunrise the next morning to solve his own death before his soul vanishes forever. While undertaking the adventure to solve his own death, he also takes it upon himself to save others from the same fate he has cruelly met.
[edit] Gameplay
On each level of the game someone has been killed and, as Sissel, the player must travel back four minutes prior to the person's death to prevent it from happening. Due to being a spirit, Sissel can enter 'Ghost Mode' in which time stands still. While this mode is activated Sissel can move to and through a variety of objects by connecting with their aura. He can also communicate with the dead and those that have been saved by a spirit before. However, Sissel can only travel to an object if it is within a certain distance of him and the player must connect to several objects to get to distanced object. When Sissel is possessing an object, most will allow him to perform Ghost Tricks, however Sissel must be outside of Ghost mode in order to perform them. These tricks can invoke responses from the characters. The player must utilise these tricks in order to change the fate of the victims and in some instances the player will have to race against time in order to save the victim.
